The Boom of NWA Historic Downtown Areas

Historic downtown areas of Benton County & Washington County support social interaction, community engagement, and economic development.

New investments, developments and businesses have come to the historic downtown areas of Benton County & Washington County for years. The historic downtown hubs in Northwest Arkansas offer a cultural focal point for gathering, shopping, and fine dining.

Now The Walton Family Foundation has recognized the community value of the public outdoor spaces in downtown Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, and Fayetteville. They are further enhancing these spaces with an additional $3.6 million investment in public spaces.

Downtown Rogers

The first thing catching your attention when you enter Downtown Rogers is the great architecture. Historical buildings like the 1907 building currently being renovated are amazing examples of the diverse historical architecture. Newly renovated galleries, parks, restaurants, cafes, and shops fill the area. All feature their own unique style.

Daisy Airgun relocated to Rogers in 1958 preceding the area’s economic development. Their museum stands in downtown Rogers to this day and is a favorate destination for all ages.

The area has kept pace with advancements to their infrastructure with fiber optics and class A office space.

Downtown Bentonville

The Bentonville historic downtown area offers historic charm with a modern flare. The Bentonville Square is lined with classic architecture framing an inviting park. The area is pedestrian and cycle friendly with fun shops, restaurants, and cafes. Walmart and the more than 1,500 vendors which have a presence in the area have helped local businesses to prosper.

Along with hospitality, culture, and entertainment the downtown area offers modern event venues, business services, retail technology companies, digital media companies, and retail supplier offices.

Downtown Springdale

Downtown Springdale has seen it’s own improvements and continues to grow with new investments to the area. Razorback Greenway runs alongside the downtown area, newly renovated Walter Turnbow Park and lovely Spring Creek bring a touch of nature to the area. Ropeswing Hospitality group which has brought excellent quality restaurants and meeting spaces to Downtown Bentonville, has announced it’s intention to develop restaurant and retail establishments for Downtown Springdale.

Downtown Fayetteville

Fayetteville is a long time entertainment destination for Northwest Arkansas. Downtown Fayetteville has great venues for the arts, music, upscale to casual restaurants, and a lively nightlife scene.
