This is a new 350 acre corporate office in Bentonville Arkansas

Walmart just unveiled its brand-new Home Office campus in Northwest Arkansas! It’s a massive 350-acre workplace that’s all about sustainability, employee well-being, and being a great place for the community.

This campus is a true game-changer for corporate headquarters. It’s a multibillion-dollar investment that focuses on creating a better experience for our associates, taking care of the environment, and making the office accessible to everyone.

The campus is built with mass timber and has smart building technology that uses renewable energy. The offices are designed to be powered by green energy and are seamlessly integrated with Downtown Bentonville.

The opening process will take place over the next few years, with the first phase kicking off in 2025.

Doug McMillon, Walmart’s CEO, said, “Our new Home Office honors our history and the hard work of our associates. It’s a place where we can continue to make a positive impact on our customers’ lives for generations to come.”

This project is a true testament to Walmart’s commitment to reimagining its corporate workspace for the future of retail. Through our associates’ feedback and innovative design, we’ve created a workplace that combines cutting-edge technology with the warmth and accessibility that have always been hallmarks of Walmart’s culture.
Our campus is a blend of our past and future, with new facilities that make the associate experience better and strengthen community bonds. At the heart of it all is Sam Walton Hall, a 200,000-square-foot, two-story auditorium with top-notch conference, learning, and development spaces. Home Office and field associates can work together and celebrate successes in this space. In an opening ceremony in the Hall, which was open to associates from around the world, the retailer also showed off other important places on campus, including:

* Welcome Center: This is the campus entrance that welcomes visitors and associates with Walmart’s signature warmth and hospitality.
* Helen’s Amphitheatre: This inspiring outdoor venue honors Helen Robson Walton’s legacy. It has terraced seating and a tree-canopied lawn for campus and community gatherings.
* 8th & Plate: This dynamic food hall offers a wide variety of global cuisines from seven coffee shops, food truck pavilions, grab-and-go markets, a rooftop lounge, and street-front retail and restaurants.
* Office Spaces (Cheer and Ol’ Roy): The first two of 12 office spaces, each with its own unique story, will be unveiled. More opening spaces will be added throughout the year.
Street Front Retail: Get ready for a shopping experience like no other! In Spring 2025, we’re bringing a brand-new retail space to our campus, featuring a mix of local and nationally recognized brands. From Bentonville Bicycle Company to Flyway Brewing, Gearhead Outfitters, The Gents Place, Hatch Early Mood Food, Jamba Juice, Riserva Bar + Tapas, Swig, Walmart Pharmacy, Wrights BBQ, and Yokozuna Sushi, there’s something for everyone.

Associate-Driven Design for a Winning Work Environment: We’re committed to creating a positive and productive work environment for our associates, and that’s reflected in the new campus design. From ample natural light and expanded food options to convenient parking, fitness facilities, and a childcare center, we’ve taken care of everything you need to stay healthy and happy. In 2024, we also opened the Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness, which is a 360,000-square-foot facility that offers a range of wellness programs and services. And in 2025, we’ll be opening the Little Squiggles Children’s Enrichment Center, a childcare facility that will provide a safe and nurturing environment for our associates’ children.

A Commitment to Smart, Sustainable Design: We’re committed to designing our campus in a way that’s both smart and sustainable. We’ve incorporated over 750,000 native plants, including 5,000 planted trees, to create a beautiful and eco-friendly environment. Shaded walkways and bike paths make it easy to commute around the campus, and the inviting street front retail environment will make it a great place to visit and shop.
The campus is a green paradise, with 50% of its land covered in lush greenery. But that’s not all - 12 office buildings are designed to be LEED Platinum certified, using the most mass timber in the U.S. They also run on renewable energy. And guess what? Over 13 acres of lake reservoirs are equipped with smart technology to help manage water efficiently. Plus, dynamic glass throughout the buildings reduces energy consumption, and LED lighting is everywhere.

For those who want to explore the campus, there are seven miles of pedestrian paths and bike trails. You can rent a bike, park over 1,000 bikes, and charge your electric vehicle at 300 stations. So, sustainable transportation is a breeze for both employees and visitors.

And let’s not forget the innovative technology that makes life easier for everyone. Smart technology systems include enhanced mobile apps, drone exterior window washing, autonomous mowing and vacuums, and smart room booking systems. It’s all about creating a seamless and user-friendly experience for our associates and visitors.
